Posted by admin on Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I have just finished programming a new OSX Dashboard Widget.  It checks the current pricing and availability for CCIE Routing and Switching, CCIE Security, CCIE Voice and CCIE Security racks.  The process for creating a widget is pretty straight forward.  The only part that wasn’t support out of the box was making AJAX calls to […]

It seems the rush of free iPhone applications is slowing.  Today, for example there were four applications released in the free section: Clowdy Photo Blogger, Vecka, Writing Pad, and Quitter.  However, there were eight new applications for the iPhone which cost money: eWallet, Jade, Kenkou, Moo Box, Shout It, Sketches, SuperPong, and Tiny Violin.   […]

#23 Leopard application of the day (Free)

#23. Argonaut

The #23 Free Leopard application is a game. That’s right gaming isn’t just for Windows users any more and there are a number of free games for Mac. This spot was going to be for PlasmaPong ,but since Atari owns the copyright to Pong the site is down.  However, the download is still avaiable here. This is a great game.  The visuals of the plasma effects are awesome.

Anyway, since that game is no longer available from their website the number #23 spot goes to Argonaut. This is just a all out great game.  It’s a astroids clone which takes place in the the year 2149.  The game has amazing graphics and it’s quite enjoyable to play.  Even better than that is the price, FREE.  So, what are you waiting for, go ahead and download it and check it out.  Screenshots and information from the developer’s site are provided below.

Join the lucrative trade of crystal mining! Navigate through deadly asteroid fields, do battle with menacing pirates and loathsome scavengers, and gather wealth for the purchase of powerful weapons and power-ups in this arcade style asteroids game.

In the year 2149 giant asteroid fields are revealed in the far reaches of space - fields highly concentrated with crystals of incredible value. Suddenly, untold wealth is up for grabs - that is, for those who dare venture to it. Thousands of the bravest pilots and most remorseless pirates blast off to claim (and steal!) their fortunes.

The most ambitious of these individuals call themselves the Argonauts, honest and brave adventurers, one and all. Their ship of choice is the Argo, a dual thruster fighter capable of housing laser blasters as well as missiles, bombs, and other technology to fend off pirates and other aggressors.

Though Argonauts are known to help each-other out in times of great peril, the vast isolation of space holds great dangers. Argonauts constantly battle with pirates and greedy scavengers just to stay alive. As you fly off into the depths of space to join the ranks of the Argonauts you ask yourself, do have what it takes to hold your ground in the chaos of the crystal mines?
